The API block sends HTTP requests to external services from your flow.

What it does

Configure method, URL, headers, query params, and body in the request builder. Responses can be stored in variables for use in later blocks.

Configuration

Open the block in the builder sidebar to configure these fields.

edit_request

Type: button. Required. Open the request builder for method, URL, auth headers, and JSON body.

save_response

Type: string. Base variable name. Access nested fields like {myApi.response.data.id} and headers like {myApi.headers.content-type}.

Example workflow

  1. Build the request — Set URL, method, and body. Use variables for dynamic tokens or ids.
  2. Save the response — Pick a variable prefix to read status, headers, and JSON body later.
  3. Branch on status — Follow with an If statement checking response variables.

Tips

  • Store API keys in Storage variables instead of pasting secrets directly into the request builder.
