# Remove Role

> Remove a role from a member.

The **Remove Role** block lives in the **Roles** palette category. Remove a role from a member.

## What it does

Remove a role from a member.

## Configuration

Open the block in the builder sidebar to configure these fields.

### `user_id`

**Type:** `user`.

Who loses the role.

### `role_id`

**Type:** `role`. Required.

The role to remove.

### `reason`

**Type:** `string`.

Optional audit log reason.
