# Delete a Channel (incl. Threads)

> Delete a channel or thread.

The **Delete a Channel (incl. Threads)** block lives in the **Channels** palette category. Delete a channel or thread.

## What it does

Permanently deletes a channel or thread.

## Configuration

Open the block in the builder sidebar to configure these fields.

### `channel_id`

**Type:** `channel`. Required.

Channel or thread to delete.

### `reason`

**Type:** `string`.

Audit log reason.

## Important

* Deletion is irreversible. Confirm the channel id when using variables.
